Disapprovals, strikes and immediate suspensions are not the same thing.

Most Google ads are reviewed within one business day. Repeated violations of certain policies can lead to account strikes, while egregious violations can result in immediate suspension without prior warning. Circumventing Systems and Unacceptable Business Practices are examples of policies Google treats as egregious.

  1. Ad disapproved; the first violation of a strike-eligible policy may result in a warning
  2. First strike: 3-day temporary account hold
  3. Second strike for the same policy within 90 days: 7-day hold; a third strike can lead to suspension
  4. Egregious violations can lead to immediate suspension without prior warning

The Google rules that reject most ads

Named the way Google names them, so the flag in your report matches the reason in your rejection email.

01

Misrepresentation / Unreliable claims

No inaccurate claims or claims that promise an improbable result. Offers in the ad must exist and be easy to find on the page.

Flagged"Earn $5,000 a week from home" without the terms on the destination.
02

Destination requirements

The final URL must work, be crawlable, be reachable in every target country, match the display URL and give a usable experience.

FlaggedA display URL on one domain that redirects to another.
03

Destination experience

No pop-ups that block content, back-button hijacking, slow loading on common devices, forced downloads or auto-redirects.

FlaggedA full-screen interstitial on page load.
04

Healthcare and medicines

Restricted by country and product, and some categories require certification or verification before ads can run.

FlaggedNaming a prescription drug in a headline without certification.
05

Financial services

Restricted by market, with verification or certification requirements for some products and countries.

FlaggedA crypto offer without the required disclosures.
06

Search, Display and Video, at the limits Google enforces.

  • Search: up to 15 headlines of 30 characters and 4 descriptions of 90, each checked on its own
  • Display: images, headlines, long headline and descriptions
  • Video: video files, business name, call to action, headlines and descriptions
  • Live preview of the headline and description combinations Google would assemble
  • Optional: connect Google Ads, including manager (MCC) accounts, and check ads from your catalog

The landing page, too

Google's policies cover both the ad and the destination. We load the landing page on desktop and mobile, check for broken destinations, blocking interstitials, mismatches and cloaking patterns, and measure performance signals that can affect landing page experience.
